Hi, I’m Maureen from the SemiOrganizedmom.com
I am a wife and mom addicted to cookies, making lists, and figuring out the best ways to spend more quality time with my family.
As a former corporate event planner, turned children’s librarian, turned stay at home mommy and author, I have gained some excellent and diverse organizational skills. I love to create simple organizing systems for my home and the holidays to allow for more meaningful and memorable times with my family.
As moms we often try to “do it all” and therefore end up feeling completely overwhelmed. I know that I am not the only mom who feels this way, right?!? I believe that if you focus on implementing simple systems that are important to your family, you will be much more motivated to keep up with them. Therefore, making life more manageable and giving you more time to enjoy your home and holiday celebrations with those who matter most.
I am a wife to a wonderful husband and mommy to two energetic and highly sensitive little boys who are 4 and 7. In total, that’s one female and 3 males (well four if you count our fish named Scales). So, I am completely outnumbered! They teach me on a daily basis to enjoy the unpredictable moments in life, while at the same time constantly reminding me that family organization is an ongoing process!
About the Blog
Why the name semi-organized?
I decided on the name The Semi-Organized Mom, because I want you to know that I do not have it all together. Not even close! And let me tell you a little secret… no mom does! First of all, organizing (especially with children in the home) is an ongoing task. Accepting the fact that you will never be 100 percent organized is the first step in taking away the insane amount of pressure that you may be putting on yourself. Since kids and clutter go together like peanut butter and jelly, this is not a blog about having all your socks organized by color or creating the Pinterest perfect holiday.
Here on the blog, you will find all types of inspiration for organizing your home and for creating meaningful and memorable holiday traditions with your family. Do not attempt to do it all, but rather decide which ideas will work best for your family. The focus is on implementing quick organizing systems for your home and simple holiday strategies to help decrease your stress and make the most of your time with those that matter most.
MY GOAL: To help and inspire other moms to enjoy their home and holidays in simple, meaningful and memorable ways.
BONUS FOR YOU: I promise to let you in on all my mistakes & Pinterest fails along the way!
Enough about me! How can I help you?
First of all as a fellow mom, I understand that you are pulled in a thousand different directions on a daily basis. Since your time is very limited, the key is to focus on quick tasks that produce big results. Most moms rarely have more than a few 10 minute increments to themselves in a day. Is that enough time to accomplish anything? I believe so! I will share with you some of the organization systems and hacks for the home and the holidays, that I am implementing to make a difference in how our family operates. The best part….. each task is broken into 10 minute or less intervals, so you can do it at your own pace and fit it in to your life!! Sound good busy momma?
When one area of your life feels under control, it makes you more motivated to take control of other aspects of your life. Let’s make our home and holidays more manageable together. You can do this too! Are you ready?
Thank you so much for visiting. I’d love to hear about you and your organizing successes/fails/goals. Let’s connect!
